Laugh a Little

Weird legal news, strange judicial opinions, and funny law school moments. If you are a lawyer, know a lawyer, or just want to laugh at lawyers, check out Lawhaha.com.

Myth Busting

Everyone: please at least skim the free book available from the good people at Gun Facts. The second amendment is America's original "homeland security," and if you know the facts about guns, gun crime, and gun laws, you'll at least be reasonably well-informed before you try to argue for more gun control.

Before you forward that incredible tale or interesting word origin, please check whether Snopes has already proven it to be an urban legend.

Myself

My Honors thesis was, and likely still is, entitled "A General-Purpose Distributed Computing Architecture," and it was a lot of work to write. It will probably be equally labor-intensive to read, but for those interested in the field it should prove valuable. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Friends and Family

My little sister is never afraid to tell me just how ugly my web site is or to blow an afternoon helping me make it less so.

PurplePJs.com is a teen girls' online magazine run by my little sister. It was for this site that I wrote Queue Server, a program that automates her job as Editor-in-Chief.

My Life

University of North Dakota is where I did my undergraduate studies, and is home to my favorite sports team and a perennial force at the national level in men's hockey, the UND Fighting Sioux.

The College of William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law is where I spend most of my time right now. It was America's first law school and is still among the best. If it was good enough for Thomas Jefferson, John Marshall, and other founding fathers and early American statesmen, it's good enough for me.

Hobbies

Gunbroker is an online auction for guns and other outdoor sporting goods.

Information

Google News is the best place to find out what's going on in the world. There's no other way to keep up with that many news sources, and Google sorts them for you.

In the event that I actually don't know something, I usually ask Google first.
